• A disappointing 'A' team result tonight. Well, I assume so. So annoyed with my own play I forgot to check the final score. #
• 3 out of 6 for me. This is worse because we're looking at promotion and suddenly low-placed Overton field a strong team. Foul I cry! #
• Made the mistake of looking at the league tables – find that our 'A' are tied 2nd in the 2nd with 2 games to go w/last against rivals. #
• That just makes tonight's lousy display more annoying. Plus, I might not make that last match because of work commitments! Frustrated! #

• 'A' team away against B-L-S 'A' in the cup – After a shaky start (I think 3 games were lost to love) a win by 5 points, with 2 games left. #
• Handicap was: Torrisholme +100, B-L-S -30. #

• Cup week: 'C' and 'D' both had compelling wins tonight at home. Not sure of the score lines but both finished with at least 4 games to play #

• 'A' team home match tonight against Ascension 'B': Freezing cold hall meant the shuttles weren't moving well. Torrisholme win 13-5. #
• Freezing hall was because the heating is broken and, you know, the weather. 'B' were away at Arkholme. Not a nice trip in these conditions. #

• 'A' team got a bit of a kicking away to Bolton-Le-Sands 'B' on Monday, 11-7. Very poor. Excuse: slippy floor, home advantage! Plus good opo! #
• Pity the poor 'C' team, away in another county at a single courter in Ingleton. Veronica still not home yet and out of the house since 18:15 #

• Match result: 'A' home against Storeys 'A' last night – draw; this was slightly better result when we were away earlier in the year. #
• Match result: 'C' at home to Brookhouse 'A' last night – win for Torrisholme, despite the Brookhouse ringer, an over 55s county player. #
• The 'B' team are at Garstang tonight. #

Right. For those coming for the meal on Thursday, and for those who aren’t for that matter, the plan is to meet at The Water Witch for a couple before we wander down to the restaurant.
